This was a banner year for MASH brewers in area homebrew competitions.
MASH members entered a record number of beers into competitions, and took home a record number of prizes. We had two brewers – Tom Jambor and Karl Weiss – place in the Best of Show Top 3.
With a total of 117 points, this year’s MASH Homebrewer of the Year is club president Tom Jambor. Jambor started the year off strong with a 2nd place Best of Show and Brewer’s Choice win at Homebrew Alley with his Dry Irish Stout. The stout was brewed at Sixpoint Brewery and is on tap at locations throughout the Morris County region.
In second place with 77 points is club vice president Karl Weiss, last year’s top HBOTY finisher. One of Weiss’ meads took second place Best of Show at the Stony Creek homebrew competition.
In third is Taylor Kamp, who earned 23 of his 39 points at Motown Mash alone. Kamp was the winningest brewer at our second annual competition. What an honor!
Rounding out the top 10 were Todd Townsend and Meghan Jambor tied for fourth, followed by Chris LaSpada, Jeff Mauriello, Dan Roebuck, Chris Johnson, Ken Orner and Doug Iwachow.
