MASH held its second club only competition last night at Poor Henry’s Pub. This edition featured single malt and single hop (SMaSH) beers. There were 29 members in attendance for judging (including 3 new members!) and 15 entrants. There was an excellent mix of SMaSH beers including 2 Saisons, a Pilsner, an ESB, 4 Pale Ales, 2 Ambers, 4 IPA’s, and even a Peat Smoked Beer!
All atendees had a chance to sample all 15 entries in a best of show style judging. We all voted on our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and the points were tallied up.
Rich Cohen won 3rd with a Maris Otter and Citra IPA
Tom Jambor won 2nd with a RedX and Mosaic IPA
John Coyle won 1st with a Maris Otter and Saaz Saison.
