To all those who suffered through …errrr… celebrated a dry January or who joined us for an interesting Sensory Analysis tasting featuring non-alcoholic Lagunitas beers last month, welcome back to the dark side. Just in time. For this month’s meeting, at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16, we’re excited to welcome Will Dodge, owner of Bull n Bear Brewing in Summit. Will worked in finance before opening the brewery in December — plans delayed by the pandemic. The name comes from “bull and bear markets” — a bull market is one on the rise, a bear market is one dipping. Stop by this weekend to pick up some beer if you can and help ensure the brewery’s profits this month are on the rise and so you can sip its beer as you hear from Will himself on Tuesday. February’s meeting will also include our annual board elections. Six people are in the running so far. You can read statements of interest in our monthly newsletter or on Slack. We will hold the vote at the meeting, and are extending the deadline to express interest in a board seat up until that day. If you’re interested in helping to collaboratively plan MASH meetings and events, which this year will hopefully include a return to in-person meetings, email [email protected]. Our Sensory Analysis Happy Hour at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25 will feature big beers as a style — stay tuned in Slack and our social media for details as we narrow imperial options and to join in on distribution coordination. Fire up your kettles! I couldn’t be more thrilled to announce that we are bringing back our MASH Club Only Competition in April, featuring Saisons. Those who enter will meet up for a socially distanced exchange and will go home with Saisons from other members to sample and enjoy. Message Eric Blaine on Slack if you are interested in brewing to sign up. Join our February Meeting on Google Meet. |
