February 2026 MASH Monthly News

Join us on Tuesday, February 17th at 7:30 PM at Double Tap Brewing in Whippany for our monthly meeting.

We have a Hot, HOt, HOT agenda on deck to help you break through the February Freeze.

**If you have entries for the Garden State Homebrew Competition, you can bring them to the meeting and we will organize a club drop off at Brew Hardware**

🇩🇪 Brewer’s Dual Duel: A Weizenbock is always right; even when it’s wrong, it’s right 🍺

We will have our first dual duel of 2026: it’s the battle of Weizenbocks featuring The Bry(i)ans – Bryan Hoppe and Brian Overman up against Andrew Joyce and Jim Wang. Come join us to see who has the right balance of malt, phenols, esters, and warming alcohol. Forget about it!

🗳️ MASH Board Elections 🗳️

We will be holding elections for the 2026 MASH Board. Make sure you join us and help select the leaders that will continue to shape the future of our club!

🧪 MASH Labs 🥼

We’ll have two fun MASH Labs for you to sample and learn from. One of the labs is related to the Weizenbocks from this month’s brewer duel. The other is the Learn to Homebrew Day Best Bitter from our friends at Double Tap. Many members took home best bitter wort and fermented their wort with a variety of English yeast strains. If you have Best Bitter from the Learn to Homebrew Day, be sure to bring some to share!

🍯 Club-Only Competition – Extract Kits 🍺

MASH Brewers ordered their favorite extract kits and followed their extract recipes to a T! Now it’s time to see who has the best choice in kits and who can apply process excellence to take a beer kit and turn it into delicious homebrew!
