Upcoming MASH meeting schedule. July monthly meeting: Also, because of Homebrew Con, we are pushing back our next Club Only Competition to July. At our July 19th monthly meeting we will compete with American Wheat Beers (BJCP Style 1D) Sometime in the month of July, we would be having a MASH Gathering for a tasting of various Meads. Once a date is determined, an announcement will be made for sign-ups. Due to the limited capacity nature of this event, we plan to have others so additional MASH members can participate. We apologize in advance to anyone who would like to attend and gets closed out. |

Our 2022 Membership Drive is open. MASH members are invited to re-up their commitment to our community by renewing their membership. Dues remain $25 for AHA members and $30 for those who haven’t joined yet. While you don’t have to be a member to attend our monthly meetings, members get exclusive perks, including membership to our Mash New Jersey Slack, our running chat of all things homebrew and beer. And stay tuned for the reveal of our 2022 membership glass!“Member up” using this form You can then send payment via MASH’s Paypal at [email protected] or via Venmo to Board Treasurer Micha Stark @starkm1. |
MASH Member Perk: As a reminder, one of the benefits of membership is the potential to get reimbursed for muling entries to homebrew competition drop-off locations. As long as there is at least one other homebrewer’s beer for you to take along with your own, MASH will reimburse you $1 for each entry that you drive to a drop-off location. Just coordinate prior to your departure date and keep one of the Board members in the loop. BJCP Confessional program: As a way of providing (what we hope will be) useful feedback to any MASH member who enters a beer (or mead or cider) in a homebrew competition, we have put together a new interactive exercise. Following a competition, the MASH member can bring in their scoresheet, recipe, and a bottle of beer to get feedback from one of our BJCP judges. We will tweak the procedure along the way if necessary. Initially, we view this as a way to take the place of the Online Beer Scores anonymous beer evaluations. But it could grow to become an entire meeting later in the year if enough competition participants are interested in sharing. Upcoming MASH trip: Hopefully, we can coordinate this for some time this Summer: A Brooklyn Brewery Crawl with Uncle Stu. Former Board member Stu Blake has put together some ideas for a multi-brewery tour in different regions of Brooklyn (where he currently resides). Once we zero in on a date, current Events Chair Bryan Hoppe will spearhead the effort. Stay tuned for further details. |
