The Motown Mash homebrew competition returns for its second year on November 7, 2015 to celebrate the talent of homebrewers in New Jersey and beyond.
Held at a new location — Nicole’s Ten in Randolph — the American Homebrewers Association and Beer Judge Certification Program sanctioned competition will be open to 350 beer, mead and cider entries that will be judged using the 2015 BJCP Style Guidelines. Entry registration will run between Sept. 26 and Oct. 24 with drop offs being accepted Oct. 9 -24.
An awards ceremony will be held immediately following judging, followed by a special dinner open to all featuring beers collaboratively brewed by New Jersey breweries and homebrew clubs paired with dishes inspired by the brews. Stay tuned for more details.
Hosted by the Morris Area Society of Homebrewers (MASH), Motown Mash’s goal is to provide entrants with top-quality feedback and to help put Morris County and New Jersey’s craft beer scene on the map.
It launched in 2014, with 260 entries judges, 41 judges and 22 stewards, and more than 100 sponsors including HOPS, Kane Brewing, and Love 2 Brew, who donated prizes to winning brewers.
