Judging is underway for the seventh annual Motown MASH, and I can hardly express how psyched I am to see six months of planning come to fruition in a celebration of our state’s homebrewing community like never before. As with other ways MASH has come together since the pandemic, the community has adapted and risen to the occasion to provide a safe and high-quality experience for all involved.
A virtual Motown MASH live awards ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20 following an in-person Best of Show judging round. The top Best of Show-winning brewers may win a ramp-up at Ashton Brewing, Untied Brewing, or Twin Elephant, as well as prizes from Brewing Hardware and New Jersey Craft Beer. I’m equally psyched for our November meeting next Tuesday, Nov. 17.
We’re celebrating beer’s place at the Thanksgiving table at our November monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17.
In addition to hosting a sensory evaluation tasting of three holiday beer favorites — Troeganator, Saison DuPont, and Anchor Christmas Ale — the meeting will feature a sharing of favorite Thanksgiving recipes and pairing. Bring your favorite recipe to swap, and don’t forget to pick up the three beers above beforehand!
Throughout this challenging year, MASH has not slowed down. I look forward to celebrating with you over the next couple months as we get ready to embark on a brand new year.
